Experimenting (Testing voronoi)

After looking at a couple of tutorials online, I found a Youtube video tutorial on how to make a voronoi pattern in grasshopper/ rhino. I thought this would be interesting to make into a shape of the letter V. I did encounter problems such as that the voronoi pattern needs a boundary/ box around it, so my letter is not that obvious.

Firstly I outlined the shape of a V and plotted points inside it, these points are where the shapes go around it. In order to make the voronoi shape/ geometry you need to put a box around, hence why I have a box around my outline of the V. However, when I lasercut I can just discard of these pieces and put together my pieces in order to construct the 3D model of the letter V. After talking to one of the tutors, it was made clear that this did not show that I put thought into how my geometry will be put together, I will continue to research and experiment with how to make my final 3D letter.

Above is my final result/ design, the blue shaded shapes is just to show the outline of the letter v.

This is just an experiment/ test of what I can make in grasshopper/ rhino.

Tutorial Practice

This my first 3D geometry of the letter V (first initial). It is quite basic and simple, however it gave me a good basic understanding of how to create 3D geometry in Grasshopper.

Above is the scripting done in Grasshopper to create the 3D geometry/ letter.
